Akae![]() Chuji Fukagawa discovered Art Nouveau and Impressionist Art in Europe over 100 years ago. The freshness of the color astounded him so much that he became determined to recreate the Japanese red color in this same unique way.
French chefs always select red plates as “red” is an essential color to stimulate the appetite. This could be one of the reasons why the Fukagawa Porcelain Manufacturing Company’s red pictures gained popularity in Europe from around 100 years ago.
